Mobile Software Developer (Android/Kotlin)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Software Developer to enhance our client’s Android applications that support critical business processes. You will work on high‑performing, user‑centric apps while contributing to a broader mobile strategy that may expand beyond Android.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and the Android Jetpack ecosystem.
• Translate functional requirements into robust, secure, and well‑architected solutions.
• Integrate mobile apps with backend systems, ensuring reliable data exchange and optimal performance.
• Utilise Firebase services for monitoring, analytics, crash reporting, and messaging.
• Take increasing ownership of the delivery lifecycle, from analysis through release and user support.
• Stay open to future work on additional mobile platforms as the technology strategy evolves.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in IT or equivalent professional experience.
• Several years of Android development experience with a strong interest in the wider mobile ecosystem.
• Open mindset to explore iOS or cross‑platform development if needed.
• Willingness to learn backend‑related tools to understand the full application landscape.
• Team‑oriented, curious, and eager to share knowledge.

Required skills

• Kotlin (including Coroutines and Flow)
• Android SDK and modern UI development (Jetpack Compose preferred)
• MVVM, Clean Architecture, Dependency Injection (e.g., Koin)
• Firebase services: Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Firestore
• REST APIs, networking libraries such as Retrofit, OkHttp (Ktor Client a plus)
• Local data storage with Room
• Experience with backend technologies like PeopleSoft tools and SQL Server is an advantage
