Mechanical R&D Engineer – Pharmaceutical Equipment

About the role

As a Mechanical R&D Engineer you will help develop new pharmaceutical machines for Fette Compacting’s portfolio. Working from the Technological Center in Mechelen, you will collaborate with process, electrical and software R&D teams to turn innovative concepts into functional equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate new ideas.
• Design mechanical concepts in 3D CAD.
• Perform calculations and simulations as required.
• Detail and specify designs from concept through to manufacturing.
• Assist in prototype evaluation and testing.

Required profile

• Experience in mechanical design of machines.
• Proficiency with a 3D CAD package, preferably Siemens NX.
• Ability to read process, pneumatic and electrical schematics (a plus).
• Team player with a hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Good knowledge of Dutch and English.
• Permanent residence in Belgium.
