Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

SII Belgium is looking for a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to develop innovative mechanical solutions for aerospace and defence clients. You will work on the design, analysis and optimisation of systems such as brakes, steering, hydraulics, pneumatics and suspension.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and detail concepts using hand calculations and FEM analysis.
• Design new systems and improve existing brake, steering, hydraulic, pneumatic and suspension components.
• Generate design substantiation through analyses and complex test setups.
• Prepare compliance demonstration reports in English.
• Coordinate with suppliers throughout the development process.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive or Aviation/Aerospace design.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Strong written communication skills in French; English required, Dutch a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools (Creo, SOLIDWORKS, CATIA).
• Experience in FMEA, strength calculations and FEM analysis.
• Ability to perform hand calculations and generate compliance documentation.
