Mechanical Design Engineer – Inventor

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in metal structures and machine building to lead projects from concept through installation. The role involves designing custom bulk‑material handling equipment such as hoppers, bunkers and related mechanical installations within an industrial engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing documentation using Autodesk Inventor.
• Develop mechanical constructions for bulk material handling systems, ensuring they are technically sound and manufacturable.
• Collaborate with project managers, production teams and customers to define optimal engineering solutions.
• Conduct site measurements, produce concept designs, and support production and installation phases.
• Prepare material lists, supplier requests and installation/assembly drawings for site teams.
• Monitor project progress on the shop floor and at customer sites, implementing design modifications when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in machine building or metal construction projects.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong planning, organisational and ownership mindset.
• Good communication skills in Dutch and English.
