Managing Director

About the role

Nura, a new philanthropic fund focused on reshaping the global information economy for climate action, is seeking a Managing Director to lead its rapid growth phase. Working closely with the Executive Director and Chief Strategy & Impact Officer, you will shape and scale the organisation’s operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement systems that enable rapid grantmaking, convenings, and global contractor management.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop a high‑performing, diverse global team.
• Foster an inclusive culture that rewards ambition, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Coordinate with Meliore Foundation functions (Grants & Contracts, IT, Finance, MEL, Legal, People & Organisational Development) to ensure seamless operational integration.
• Monitor risk and opportunity landscapes to adapt operational strategies swiftly.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in managing complex, mission‑driven organisations.
• Proven ability to build scalable operational frameworks and lead global teams.
• Strong strategic thinking with a track record of delivering impact in philanthropic or climate‑focused contexts.
• Excellent communication and partnership skills across multidisciplinary stakeholders.
