Maintenance Technician – Shipyard Operations

About the role

As a Maintenance Technician at EDR Antwerp Shipyard, you will ensure the reliability, safety and continuous operation of the shipyard’s technical assets. You will work on a wide range of installations, machinery and infrastructure, supporting both routine and emergency shipyard activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on shipyard installations and machinery.
• Maintain and repair dry docks, pump rooms, quay and gantry cranes.
• Service workshop equipment such as overhead cranes, compressors and machining tools.
• Maintain technical installations in new buildings, including HVAC, gates and fire‑detection systems.
• Support operational tasks such as dock block positioning and vessel docking/undocking.
• Register and follow up maintenance activities in a digital maintenance management system.
• Work a daytime schedule (7:00‑15:30) with occasional extensions to 18:00 and weekend work as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or technician.
• Broad technical knowledge of mechanical systems and maintenance practices.
• Hands‑on, solution‑oriented mindset with a strong focus on safety and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an operational shipyard environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours within a rotation system.
