Line Leader – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

The Line Leader is responsible for the short‑ and long‑term performance of an assigned production line or cell across all shifts. You will drive operational excellence, ensure safety, quality, delivery, cost, sustainability and morale targets are met, and develop your team to sustain technical mastery on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end accountability for all KPIs of the assigned line/cell.
• Manage daily, weekly and monthly management systems and standard work practices.
• Lead governance meetings, line briefs and longer‑term improvement planning.
• Collaborate with hub and site planning teams to optimise production plans.
• Control fixed and variable costs against budget, including Kaizen and DVL initiatives.
• Deploy and oversee health, safety and compliance programmes.

Required profile

• Experience with Autonomous Maintenance (AM) Step 4 and Progressive Maintenance (PM) Step 3.
• Proven ability to maintain equipment under basic conditions and execute breakdown and planned maintenance.
• Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Demonstrated leadership of line teams in a unionised environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to handle challenging situations tactfully.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with high attention to detail.
