Legal Counsel – Corporate

About the role

John Cockerill is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide expert legal and contractual support to its operational and commercial teams. You will focus on negotiating and drafting high‑value industrial contracts for both domestic and international projects, protecting the Group’s interests throughout the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and draft a wide variety of commercial contracts (sales, EPC, maintenance, supply, etc.) for large‑scale industrial projects in sectors such as energy, hydrogen, nuclear, infrastructure, and defence.
• Manage and follow up on disputes and claims, including coordination with international counterparts in Asia, the Middle East and China.
• Provide legal support to commercial and operational teams throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with Trade Finance and Compliance teams on export‑related matters.
• Represent the Group in high‑level interactions with senior stakeholders, external partners and clients.

• Strong legal expertise with a focus on industrial and commercial contracts.
• Commercial acumen and the ability to understand complex business contexts.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.
