Legal Consultant – Employee Benefits & Pensions

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Legal Consultant to join our Employee Benefits Consulting team in Belgium. You will work on pension fund governance and regulatory compliance for a diverse portfolio of national and international clients, collaborating with local and international colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the trusted legal contact for clients, supporting pension fund governance and compliance.
• Prepare legal analyses, compliance reports, and governance documentation.
• Participate in client meetings, present regulatory developments, and provide practical recommendations.
• Support strategic projects such as mergers, portfolio transfers, liquidations, and implementation of new regulatory frameworks (e.g., European DORA).
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and translate them into clear guidance for clients and colleagues.
• Collaborate with consultants, pension administration teams, and Belgian supervisory authorities (FSMA, social security, tax authorities).
• Deliver internal and external training sessions and represent the company in industry working groups.

Required profile

• Degree in Law (other academic backgrounds may be considered).
• Up to 3 years of experience in labour law, corporate housekeeping, pensions, employee benefits or a related field (optional).
• Strong interest in pension fund governance, regulatory compliance and financial services.
• Fluency in Dutch and good command of English and/or French.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, curious and detail‑oriented attitude.
