Legal & Compliance Officer

About the role

Wooclap is seeking its first in‑house Legal & Compliance Officer to build and lead the legal function from the ground up. You will act as the primary legal advisor for all contractual, compliance and regulatory matters, partnering closely with Sales, Finance, Security and senior leadership while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate client and supplier contracts, ensuring protection of Wooclap’s interests and consistency of standard documents such as Subscriber Agreements, T&C, SLA, DPA and Privacy Policy.
• Maintain a contract management system that provides full visibility of commitments and derogations to management.
• Oversee day‑to‑day GDPR compliance, manage data‑subject requests, DPAs and the record of processing activities in coordination with the external DPO.
• Monitor emerging regulations (AI Act, DSA, sector‑specific rules) and advise the business on exposure and mitigation.
• Respond to security questionnaires, build a knowledge base of standard answers and support the maintenance of ISO 27001 certification.
• Participate in client calls to resolve contractual questions in real time and advise on deal structure, liability and risk.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of experience in a law firm or in‑house legal role, preferably within B2B SaaS, technology or a fast‑scaling company.
• Strong command of contract law, data‑privacy regulations (GDPR) and familiarity with emerging EU tech legislation.
• Proven ability to work independently, exercise discretion and communicate complex legal concepts to non‑legal stakeholders.
