Legal & Compliance Officer (Full‑time/Part‑time)

About the role

imec.xpand is a European venture capital fund focused on deep‑technology startups. The Legal & Compliance Officer will become the legal anchor of the organisation, supporting fund operations, portfolio activities and regulatory obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day compliance activities, drafting and maintaining policies, procedures and regulatory documentation.
• Coordinate AML/KYC processes, investor onboarding and related regulatory filings.
• Prepare and follow up on compliance reporting, acting as a point of contact for regulatory bodies and external partners.
• Review, draft and manage investment agreements, shareholder documents, service contracts, vendor and commercial contracts.
• Oversee external legal counsel across jurisdictions, ensuring consistency and quality of legal output.
• Support the investment team throughout investment, follow‑on and exit processes from a legal and operational perspective.

Required profile

• Strong background in corporate law, venture capital or financial services compliance.
• Experience with AML/KYC procedures and regulatory reporting.
• Ability to work autonomously, coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage external counsel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of AML/KYC regulations.
• Familiarity with investment‑related legal documentation.
• Experience drafting and reviewing commercial contracts.
