Legal Advisor – Insurance & Pension Supervision

About the role

The Legal Advisor will join the department responsible for supervising insurance products and supplementary pensions. You will ensure that insurance offerings and pension schemes comply with applicable legislation, regulations, and consumer protection standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise life and non‑life insurance products, checking pre‑contractual information, advertising, and product terms for legal compliance.
• Verify that insurance products meet product oversight and governance rules and provide value for money to consumers.
• Develop and apply risk‑based tools to target supervisory actions effectively and contribute to EU‑level projects.
• Interpret and apply social legislation governing second‑pillar pensions, responding to clarification requests and handling member complaints.
• Examine the legal structure of occupational retirement institutions (IORPs), ensuring compliance with statutory requirements on legal form, articles of association, and related matters.

Required profile

• Law degree with a focus on insurance, pension, or financial services regulation.
• Experience in regulatory or supervisory environments, preferably within insurance or pension sectors.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex legislation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; knowledge of local language is a plus.
