Lead Engineer

About the role

November Five is seeking an experienced engineering leader to help elevate its engineering organization. This hands‑on role blends technical contribution with people leadership, allowing you to write code, review pull requests, and solve complex problems while shaping a high‑performing team culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 5‑8 engineers, providing technical direction and career development.
• Balance hands‑on coding with people leadership and team development.
• Partner with the Head of Engineering to drive engineering transformation initiatives.
• Help define the engineering roadmap, including AI‑driven enhancements.
• Foster a culture of candid feedback, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with product and other engineering leads to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Establish and reinforce engineering standards, best practices, and processes.
• Coach team members to elevate technical skills and professional capabilities.
• Participate in hiring and building out the engineering organization.

Required profile

• Experience working in an agency or consulting environment, understanding client delivery, shifting priorities, and managing multiple projects.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with proven technical depth.
• 2+ years of direct people‑management experience leading engineering teams.
• Track record of improving team performance and developing engineers.
