LA&S Standards Designer – Electrical Transmission

About the role

Elia Belgium, a key player in the Belgian and European energy landscape, is seeking a Designer for Linear Assets & Structures (LA&S) standards. You will join the Design Standards & Tools team to create and maintain standard plans that support both overhead line and underground cable projects, contributing to the transition towards 3D intelligent design and BIM environments.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with experts to shape and improve LA&S standard plans.
• Manage creation, updating, and distribution of LA&S standards for line and cable projects.
• Assist in drafting LA&S design methodology and updating technical notes (Basic Specification, Building Block, etc.).
• Provide documentation support to the Quality & Technical Integration team.
• Maintain technical documentation for cables, insulator strings, equipment, and structures.
• Oversee the simplified pylon library in partnership with structural experts.
• Develop and update Excel templates for insulator string calculations.
• Manage standard trench plans and Visio symbol libraries for scenario modelling.

Required profile

• Degree in electrical or electromechanical engineering, architectural drawing, or equivalent experience.
• Fluent in French or Dutch with the ability to understand the other language.
