Junior Associate – Life Sciences & Healthcare Regulatory (Brussels)

About the role

Arnold & Porter is looking for a Junior Associate to join its Life Sciences & Healthcare Regulatory practice in Brussels. The role offers the opportunity to work on complex EU regulatory matters affecting medicinal products, biologicals, and medical devices, and to collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice areas.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients in navigating EU regulatory frameworks for research, clinical trials, manufacturing, and marketing of medicinal products and medical devices.
• Support applications for authorisation through centralised, decentralised, and mutual recognition procedures.
• Contribute to advice on orphan drug, paediatric investigation plans, pricing, procurement, and reimbursement issues.
• Participate in litigation matters before the Court of Justice of the European Union when required.
• Collaborate with colleagues in competition, white‑collar, transactions, IP, and other practice groups.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience with EU medicinal products or medical devices regulatory regimes.
• Background in a pharmaceutical company, medical‑devices manufacturer, or specialised regulatory practice.
• Strong research, writing and analytical abilities; capable of independent and creative work.
• Excellent academic credentials and professional references.
• License to practice law in the EU and eligibility to register as a lawyer in Belgium.
