Junior Accountant

About the role

Join Grant Thornton’s dynamic team in Ghent as a Junior Accountant, supporting a diverse portfolio of local SMEs and multinational branches. You will work closely with clients, providing trusted advice and gaining exposure to a wide range of sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor for clients, answering accounting questions.
• Prepare VAT and other tax returns, draw up financial statements and enter accounting documents.
• Work on‑site with diverse companies across various sectors, often in an international context.
• Build client relationships through direct contact from day one, with responsibilities growing as you progress.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accountancy and taxation or a Master’s in applied economic/commercial sciences with an accounting focus.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in a consultancy or accountancy firm.
• Fluency in Dutch, French and English.
• Willingness to travel to offices and client sites.
• Ambitious, proactive and aligned with Grant Thornton’s CLEARR values.
