IT Support Engineer – 1st & 2nd Line

About the role

We are looking for an L1/L2 IT Support Engineer to join the Backup Team at Econocom. The role ensures service continuity for customers across Belgium by temporarily covering consultants during holidays, sick leave or other absences. You will work on‑site at various client locations, providing first‑ and second‑line support while gaining exposure to multiple technologies and industries.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line and second‑line support to end users, handling incidents, service requests and troubleshooting.
• Replace consultants during absences to maintain continuity of IT services.
• Support Windows environments, Microsoft 365, browsers, collaboration tools and mobile devices.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on laptops, desktops, printers and peripheral devices.
• Install, configure and maintain workplace equipment and business applications.
• Document incidents, requests and solutions according to IT processes and standards.
• Participate in workplace IT projects such as hardware refreshes, Windows migrations, software deployments and device roll‑outs.
• Travel regularly to customer sites across Belgium, mainly in Flanders.

Required profile

• Experience in L1/L2 IT support, service desk or workplace support.
• Good knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365 and hardware troubleshooting.
• Strong interest in IT, eagerness to learn and obtain certifications.
• Customer‑oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
• Well‑organized, proactive and able to work autonomously.
• Flexible and comfortable adapting to different working environments.
• Team player with a professional and positive attitude.
