IT Infrastructure Engineer III

About the role

Google's Hardware Operations team is looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer III to join its cutting‑edge data‑center environment. You will install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain server hardware and software, as well as complex networking components that power Google Cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, maintain, and support infrastructure for Google Cloud regions and data‑center sites.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolve escalated technical issues on servers, networking gear, and operating systems.
• Test and evaluate new server hardware components and designs.
• Configure and troubleshoot operating‑system issues on Linux‑based servers.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop project plans and contingency strategies for large installations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands‑on experience with computer and server hardware troubleshooting/diagnosing.
• Experience with Linux operating systems and networking protocols.
• Project‑management and leadership experience, with a proven ability to partner with multiple teams.
• Preferred: background working in a data‑center or network‑operations‑center environment and experience maintaining and monitoring server systems.
