Internal Communications Specialist

About the role

As an Internal Communications Specialist at ILIAS you will shape how the company shares information across borders and time zones. You will work closely with Marketing, HR, Change Management and senior leadership to build a consistent, engaging internal communication framework that supports rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead a company‑wide internal communications strategy, defining key messages, channels and rhythms aligned with business priorities.
• Design and deliver employee‑focused content for newsletters, intranet, videos, podcasts, town halls and other internal platforms.
• Manage and continuously improve internal communication tools such as SharePoint, Viva Engage, digital signage and internal email systems.
• Support employee engagement and DEIB initiatives, collaborating with the Events Manager and Experience Center Manager.
• Equip managers with templates, guidelines and tools to cascade information effectively.
• Partner with Change Facilitators and HR to create clear, empathetic change and crisis communications.
• Monitor engagement metrics, analyse performance data and refine communication tactics.

Required profile

• Proven experience building or significantly improving internal communications in a fast‑growing, international organization.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to work with senior leaders across functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity and employee relevance.
• Ability to travel regularly between the Diegem and Almere offices and occasional overseas trips.
