Installation & Commissioning Engineer - Mobile Automation

About the role

KION Intralogistic Solutions Benelux NV is looking for an Installation & Commissioning (I&C) Engineer for its Mobile Automation projects. The engineer plays a key role in the successful delivery and handover of projects to customers, working closely with the Project Manager and other project execution team members. Work takes place at customer sites, where the engineer acts as an ambassador for the company, focusing on safe working and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, test and start up automated vehicles in Mobile Automation projects
• Configure system components and adjust vehicles
• Perform safety tests and guide and supervise functional and performance tests, SAT and FAC
• Configure specific functional (customer) requirements
• Design driving routes, develop material flows and parameterize customer-specific functionalities
• Deliver safety training, error recovery and operator training to the end user
• Report project status and progress to the project manager

Required profile

• Bachelor in Engineering (or similar; Mechatronics, Industrial Automation)
• Relevant experience in multi-disciplinary project work (mechanical, electrical, software)
• Experience in automation solutions (AGVs and WMS systems), intralogistics, material handling or warehouse automation is preferred
• Fluent Dutch and English; excellent communication skills in English, Dutch preferred
• Willingness to travel and work at customer facilities during the project

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of electronics, wiring diagrams and schematics, controls and hydraulics
• Basic programming (e.g. C/C++) and experience with Git, Linux, Siemens S7 and Beckhoff IPC
• Experience interfacing WMS, WCS or control-level software
• AutoCAD and custom drafting tools for system layout and design
• Practical knowledge of ERP and issue-tracking systems (SAP, JIRA) is an asset
