About the role
MSF is seeking a Humanitarian Affairs Officer to strengthen its advocacy and policy work in Belgium. The role supports the multi‑disciplinary project that serves migrants, undocumented persons, and those in administrative detention, ensuring their health and human‑rights needs are addressed.
Key responsibilities
- Collect and analyse data on security, medical, and humanitarian contexts to inform decision‑making.
- Support project managers in interpreting data and adapting activities to population needs.
- Monitor and compile updates on activities and plans of NGOs, UN agencies, ICRC, donors, and authorities.
- Collaborate with project coordination, advocacy, and communication teams to develop a coherent global strategy.
- Maintain relationships with local authorities, NGOs, and communities to improve access and coordination.
- Organise trainings, briefings, and discussions on human rights and advocacy for MSF staff.
- Define and review advocacy messages, tools, and lobbying activities.
Required profile
- Strong analytical skills with experience in humanitarian or public‑health contexts.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Understanding of migration, detention, and exclusion issues.
