HR Manager – Payroll & Compliance

About the role

We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to lead payroll, HR administration and compliance initiatives. You will work closely with external partners and internal teams to ensure accurate payroll processing, robust HR processes and adherence to Belgian labor legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage precise and timely payroll in collaboration with an external payroll service provider.
• Oversee HR administrative functions: contracts, salary adjustments, benefits, absences, time tracking and off‑boarding.
• Act as the main liaison for social secretariats, auditors and regulatory authorities; organise audits and inspections.
• Maintain high standards of HR data accuracy, reporting and KPI monitoring.
• Develop and maintain compensation and benefits structures that are market‑aligned, cost‑effective and legally compliant.
• Ensure uniform application of reward policies and communicate them clearly.
• Draft, revise and implement HR policies, procedures and internal regulations.
• Identify HR‑related risks and propose corrective or preventive measures.
• Coordinate performance‑management cycles, support managers with performance issues and disciplinary cases.
• Assist in recruitment, onboarding, training planning and compliance with mandatory training obligations.
• Provide coaching and HR partnership to employees and managers, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Belgian labour laws and social legislation.
• Proven experience in payroll management and HR administration.
• Excellent communication and coaching abilities.
• Ability to work with external payroll providers and regulatory bodies.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on data accuracy and risk management.
