Health and Safety Manager

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious, self‑motivated Health and Safety Manager to lead the HS function across our plant. You will work closely with the Site Leadership Team to embed a zero‑harm, zero‑waste culture and ensure full compliance with Belgian/EU legislation and our corporate HS policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain HS policies, procedures and management systems aligned with Belgian/EU law.
• Lead risk assessments, hazard identification, incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are applied.
• Act as primary liaison with government agencies, auditors and external stakeholders.
• Monitor and report HS performance metrics, driving continuous improvement.
• Provide HS training, coaching and awareness programmes for all employee levels.
• Manage emergency preparedness and response plans.
• Lead and develop a team of three HS specialists, fostering talent and mentorship.
• Participate as Prevention Advisor in the Committee of Safety at Work.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• Certified Prevention Advisor Level 1 with at least 15 years of experience in a production environment, preferably chemical.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health & safety and fire‑protection legislation.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
• Commitment to high standards, analytical thinking and continuous improvement.
