Head of Lab Equipment & Systems

About the role

You will lead the Lab Equipment & Systems function for our Belgian operations, ensuring reliable, future‑ready laboratory infrastructure that supports QC and R&D. Reporting to the VP of QC Belgium, you will collaborate with Technical Services, Engineering, EHS and Quality to drive equipment lifecycle management and capital projects.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of laboratory equipment and systems, from acquisition through decommissioning.
• Lead medium and small capital projects, delivering on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Partner with Technical Services, Engineering, EHS and Quality to manage equipment qualification, validation and inspection readiness.
• Manage vendor relationships, service contracts and spare‑parts strategies to minimise downtime and cost.
• Oversee lab information systems and digital tools, supporting implementation, data integrity and workflow efficiency.
• Build and coach a multidisciplinary team and external service partners to provide safe, high‑quality lab support.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading laboratory equipment or systems functions in a regulated environment.
• Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering capital projects.
• Excellent collaboration skills across QC, R&D, engineering and quality functions.
• Ability to develop and execute equipment roadmaps aligned with business needs.
• Experience managing vendor contracts and service agreements.
