Hardgoods Regulatory Engineering Risk and Compliance Supervisor

About the role

Join 3M as a Hardgoods Regulatory Engineering Risk and Compliance Supervisor and lead the compliance journey for hardgoods sold in the EU and UK. You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure products meet all applicable directives, standards, and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee regulatory compliance for hardgoods across EU and UK markets, including CE marking, RoHS, REACH, WEEE, EMC, LVD, GPSR and related standards.
• Lead technical risk assessments covering safety, mechanical, material and functional risks throughout the product lifecycle.
• Interpret and communicate regulatory requirements to engineering, design and commercial teams.
• Prepare and manage compliance documentation such as Declarations of Conformity, technical files and risk analyses.
• Coordinate testing activities with external labs and internal quality/R&D teams.
• Monitor regulatory changes, support internal audits and external inspections, and drive corrective actions.
• Train teams on regulatory obligations, product safety principles and compliance processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Science or Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in regulatory compliance, risk assessment or product safety within a manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CE marking, RoHS, REACH, WEEE, EMC, LVD, GPSR, EN and ISO standards.
• Experience conducting technical risk assessments and preparing Declarations of Conformity.
• Ability to interpret EU/UK regulatory directives and translate them into engineering requirements.
• Proficiency in coordinating testing activities with external laboratories.
• Strong understanding of product safety and regulatory audit processes.
