Global Privacy & Data Protection Leader – Innovative Medicine

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a senior privacy executive to lead the Global Privacy & Data Protection function for its Innovative Medicine (IM) sector. The leader will be based in Brussels (or New Brunswick, NJ or Washington, DC) and will report directly to the Chief Privacy Officer, shaping strategy and ensuring compliance across all IM business units worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end global oversight of privacy and data‑protection activities for the IM sector, ensuring robust governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as the senior‑most privacy representative to IM executives, regional and country teams, and global leadership forums.
• Define and drive the IM privacy strategy in alignment with Johnson & Johnson’s overall privacy, risk and compliance priorities.
• Champion innovative and ethical uses of data to enable new patient‑engagement models, drug discovery and product development.
• Maintain and mature the privacy operating model, delivering scalable, business‑aligned privacy practices.
• Monitor evolving global privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and ensure timely implementation of required controls.
• Partner closely with legal, compliance, security and business functions to embed privacy by design.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience leading privacy and data‑protection programs, preferably in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
• Deep knowledge of global privacy regulations and best practices.
• Proven ability to influence executive leadership and drive cross‑functional initiatives.
• Strategic thinker with strong governance and risk‑management expertise.
