General & Tax Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a General & Tax Accountant to manage end‑to‑end accounting processes for a leading aeronautics company located east of Brussels. You will work closely with the Director of Accounting to ensure the reliability and transparency of our financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the full set of accounting books, including daily entries for incoming FI and outgoing intercompany invoices, bank transactions, provisions, etc.
• Execute monthly and annual closings and prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, annexes) in accordance with Belgian GAAP (BEGAAP) and international standards.
• Handle VAT declarations for multiple group entities and support the preparation of corporate tax (ISOC) filings.
• Perform financial analysis, monitor account balances, and provide justifications.
• Implement and monitor internal control procedures to ensure compliance with legislation.
• Manage fixed assets, including tracking, depreciation, and revaluations.
• Support external auditors by answering queries and providing required documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a General Accountant with full‑cycle responsibilities, preferably in an international environment.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting standards (BEGAAP) and tax regulations (VAT, ISOC).
• Fluent in French and English; Dutch is a plus.
• Highly organized, able to work independently, meet deadlines, and pay close attention to detail.
• Analytical mindset with excellent critical thinking and teamwork abilities.
