Functional Analyst / Business Analyst – Long‑Term Freelance (Hybrid, Brussels)

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Functional Analyst / Business Analyst for a long‑term freelance assignment based in Brussels. The role is hybrid, joining an Agile Scrum‑based DevOps team that delivers applications for self‑employed customers handling administrative and social‑security processes.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into clear user stories and functional specifications.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery flow.
• Support backlog refinement and sprint preparation activities.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and follow Agile delivery processes.
• Conduct functional testing and validate delivered features.
• Facilitate communication between business and technical teams.
• Maintain applications throughout the full product lifecycle within a DevOps environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Functional Analyst or Business Analyst in Agile settings.
• Strong ability to write user stories and gather requirements.
• Comfortable working closely with both stakeholders and development teams.
• Experience with functional testing or UAT activities.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive, pragmatic mindset with a hands‑on approach.
• Fluent Dutch language skills.
