Full-Stack Python Developer - Django & React (Employed or freelance)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Full‑Stack Python Developer to join a modern, data‑intensive web platform supporting the Federal Judicial Police in Brussels. You will work across the entire stack, from API design and backend services to responsive front‑end interfaces, ensuring clean architecture and high software quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs using Python, Django and Django REST Framework.
• Build and enhance responsive front‑end components with React, TypeScript and modern tooling such as Vite.
• Implement data‑intensive features, write advanced PostgreSQL queries, and manage caching with Redis.
• Set up background job processing with Celery and ensure reliable CI/CD pipelines using Docker and GitLab CI/CD.
• Write automated tests with Pytest and contribute to a clean, testable codebase.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team in an onsite environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Full‑Stack Developer with strong hands‑on Python and Django skills.
• Solid knowledge of React, TypeScript and modern front‑end practices.
• Good understanding of PostgreSQL, Redis and RESTful API design.
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD workflows and testing frameworks (Pytest).
• Strong communication, attention to detail and a collaborative, proactive attitude.
