Freight Management & Process Improvement Lead

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Freight Management & Process Improvement Lead to drive the enhancement of freight processes and costs across the EMEA region. The role is central to achieving transport availability, meeting freight cost targets, and advancing digital tools in line with company objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve the freight management process to increase efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
• Execute and optimise freight tenders, ensuring best value and effective execution.
• Coach and train local plant teams on tender procedures.
• Automate and enhance freight reporting, leveraging data for process and cost improvements.
• Support warehouse network optimisation through tenders, analysis and project management.
• Manage vendor relationships and monitor performance via KPIs.
• Travel internationally and domestically up to 50% of the time to support initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of freight management experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role within a matrix organisation.
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical abilities to assess market trends and recommend strategies.
• Pro‑active, self‑driven attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and digitalisation.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics AX.
• Strong knowledge of Business Intelligence tools, especially Power BI.
• Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems, preferably Transporeon.
