Freelance Backend Engineer (C#/.NET)

About the role

Twipe, a mediatech scale‑up supporting leading newspaper publishers, is modernising its back‑end to a cloud‑native architecture. We are looking for a Freelance Backend Engineer to join the team until the end of the year and help build a highly scalable platform for millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable back‑end services using C#/.NET.
• Maintain system availability, monitoring and cost optimisation.
• Develop and optimise CI/CD pipelines and write clean, testable code.
• Review pull requests to ensure code quality and team standards.
• Manage AWS infrastructure through infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform).
• Participate in on‑call rotation to support production incidents.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in C# development.
• Strong knowledge of C#/.NET (version 6 or higher).
• Experience with relational databases such as SQL.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Proactive communication, hands‑on attitude and a “can‑do” mindset.
