First Line Intervention Technician – Electrical Systems

About the role
The Office of Workplace Management and Business Continuity at NATO Headquarters seeks a First Line Intervention Team (FLIT) Technician specialized in electricity. You will ensure continuous operation of NATO’s electrical infrastructure, providing 24/7 on‑call support for preventive, corrective and emergency tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Perform repair, installation, maintenance and modification of high‑ and low‑voltage electrical systems, generators, UPS and Passive Network Infrastructure (PNWI).
- Support on‑demand requests and high‑profile events, including ministerial meetings, often outside regular hours.
- Supervise and inspect work carried out by external contractors to verify compliance with contract specifications and safety standards.
- Assist the Foreperson Electricity and act as their substitute when required.
- Draft basic incident reports and contribute to continuous improvement of electrical safety procedures.
Required profile
- Secondary technical education in electrical or electromechanical engineering, or equivalent diploma with BA5 electrical safety certification.
- Minimum six years of experience maintaining complex electrical installations in large‑scale office or industrial sites.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- English or French at NATO level V (Advanced) and the other at level II (Elementary).
Required skills
- High‑voltage and low‑voltage electrical systems.
- Emergency generators, UPS and PNWI.
- Electrical safety (BA5 certification).
- DALI and KNX programming.
- AutoCAD suite.
