Field & Operations Technician

About the role

Fluves is looking for a Field & Operations Technician to join its delivery team in Ghent. You will support the practical and technical execution of fiber‑optic sensing projects on‑site and from the office, ensuring installations are safe, reliable and meet quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and support fiber‑optic cable installations based on customer data, technical drawings and internal requirements.
• Brief and guide subcontractors, inspect their work and document the quality of completed installations.
• Splice and repair fiber‑optic cables, record installed routes and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Prepare, test and configure equipment before shipment or on‑site installation.
• Mount devices, assemble hardware and ensure all project materials are correctly packed and shipped.
• Maintain and organise the Fluves warehouse, including tools, test setups and project supplies.
• Support project managers with practical technical tasks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Ensure all installations, equipment and documentation comply with Fluves’ quality and safety standards.

Required profile

• Solid practical technical background, preferably a technical bachelor’s or graduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Hands‑on, independent and customer‑oriented with strong organisational skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work safely with technical equipment.
