Educational Support & Nursery Assistant – German Section (Part-time)

About the role

The European School Brussels I is seeking a part‑time Educational Support Assistant and/or Nursery Assistant for its German language section. The role combines nursing care and pedagogical support for pupils with special educational needs, ensuring their health, inclusion and academic success.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct physical care such as assistance with mobility, toileting, feeding and medical procedures.
• Monitor pupils' health and well‑being throughout the school day and during off‑site activities.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, parents and school staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided and any health‑related incidents.
• Deliver personalised educational support in class, small groups or one‑to‑one settings.
• Assist in designing and applying differentiated teaching strategies and Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
• Use assistive technologies and appropriate teaching tools to facilitate learning.
• Promote positive peer interactions, manage classroom behaviour and support social‑emotional development.

Required profile

• Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs.
• Ability to provide nursing care and ensure pupil safety.
• Strong collaboration skills with teachers, healthcare staff and families.
• Capacity to document observations and adjust support plans.
