Educational Support Assistant / Nursery Assistant (Part‑time)

About the role

The European School Brussels I is looking for part‑time Educational Support Assistants and/or Nursery Assistants to support pupils in the Greek, English, Italian and Latvian language sections. The role combines nursing care, personalised pedagogical support and close collaboration with teachers and health professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct physical care (mobility, toileting, feeding, medical procedures) and monitor pupils' health and safety throughout the school day and during off‑site activities.
• Deliver personalised educational support in class, small groups or one‑to‑one, using differentiated teaching methods and assistive technologies.
• Assist in preparing and implementing Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and maintain accurate care records.
• Promote inclusion by encouraging positive peer interactions and supporting social‑emotional development.
• Collaborate with teachers, healthcare professionals and families to adjust support plans and participate in monitoring meetings.

Required profile

• Experience or training in supporting children with special educational needs or in a school nursery setting.
• Ability to provide basic nursing care and to work safely with medical or mobility equipment.
• Strong communication skills for teamwork with educators, health staff and parents.
