Document Controller – Engineering Projects

About the role

Amaris Consulting is seeking a Document Controller to support a key client in the electricity and grid solutions sector. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust document management processes that ensure engineering and business documents are accurate, compliant, and readily accessible throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain efficient document management systems for technical and business documentation.
• Define and enforce standards for metadata, classification, version control, traceability and retention.
• Review, validate and manage engineering and project documentation to meet quality standards.
• Coordinate with IT and business stakeholders to guarantee system compatibility, secure data migration and information integrity.
• Act as the primary contact for document management requirements across internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyze existing workflows, identify optimisation opportunities and drive digitalisation.
• Lead document clean‑up initiatives and support data governance activities.
• Train users on document management tools and best practices.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Information Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4–8 years of experience in document control, records or document management within a technical or industrial environment.
• Proven ability to build and implement document control processes from scratch.
• Strong knowledge of information governance, document lifecycle management and data protection principles.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Fluent in English; Dutch required, French considered a strong asset.
