About the role

The Deputy Medical Operations Coordinator supports the Operations Coordinator in shaping the medical vision, strategy and operational coherence of MSF programmes. Based in Brussels, the role works across a dynamic portfolio that may include Central African contexts and adapts to evolving operational priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing medical strategies and quality‑of‑care standards across assigned programmes.
• Support security‑sensitive programming, access negotiations and advocacy efforts.
• Contribute to outbreak response planning and coordination with country teams and headquarters.
• Provide strategic decision‑making support in collaboration with cell members and other departments.
• Monitor and ensure operational coherence of medical activities within the portfolio.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of complex medical‑operational environments.
• Experience working with multi‑disciplinary teams in humanitarian or international health settings.
• Ability to navigate security constraints, access issues and advocacy contexts.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
