Data Engineer

About the role

Biztory is looking for a Data Engineer to join its data team in Belgium. The role sits in the company's Data Domain and AI competence centre, where you will design and build modern data ecosystems, pipelines, lakes and warehouses that support clients' AI and analytics goals. The team works with a "get stuff done" mentality, with the agility of a small group and the backing of the Cronos Group.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data architectures, pipelines, lakes and warehouses for clients.
• Act as a trusted advisor, building relationships and guiding clients through data and AI projects.
• Unify fragmented data sources into high-performance, centralized platforms.
• Map business goals to technical solutions and deliver engagements with a solution-first approach.
• Experiment with new tools and advise clients on the most future-proof path.
• Work with stakeholders to capture their needs and build the long-term data roadmap.

Required profile

• Fluent English and either Dutch or French.
• Lives in Belgium or is open to relocating from within the EU.
• Ideally 2 or more years of relevant experience.
• Comfortable with SQL and Python, writing clean, versioned code via Git.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, Databricks or AWS.
• Experience with dbt, Docker or Terraform is a plus; project management experience is also a plus.
