Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

As a Cybersecurity Engineer at Sopra Steria you will protect client environments from cyber threats, troubleshoot security incidents, and apply advanced security tools. You will work with network security, encryption, firewalls and intrusion detection systems while staying up‑to‑date with the latest security trends and compliance standards such as GDPR and ISO/IEC 27001.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop secure solutions for complex applications.
• Collaborate with architects on system security design.
• Deploy and operate security tools to identify and resolve issues across systems and applications.
• Implement hardening controls using CIS Benchmarks to reduce attack surface.
• Identify, assess and mitigate vulnerabilities in infrastructure and applications.
• Support DevSecOps processes and conduct security engineering reviews of code and configurations.
• Troubleshoot PKI‑related problems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with DAST, SAST and penetration‑testing methodologies.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab/GitHub and Artifactory.
• Proficiency on Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Basic knowledge of PKI.
• Familiarity with OpenShift, Kubernetes and Docker is a plus.
• Understanding of Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) and CIS hardening standards.
• Fluency in English; French or Dutch is a plus.
