Controlling Manager

About the role

As a Controlling Manager you will sit at the intersection of Finance, Business and Operations, providing the Benelux organization with clear insights, reliable reporting and actionable analyses. Reporting to the Finance, IT & Data Director, you will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations and Data/BI teams to drive performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all controlling activities, including budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual management reports.
• Monitor financial performance, identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain cost‑control systems, profitability analyses and working‑capital monitoring.
• Analyse logistics costs, inventory management and support pricing, supply‑chain and operational‑efficiency decisions.
• Contribute to integration of new stock and business activities.
• Support strategic initiatives through financial modelling and business‑case evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, standards and company policies.
• Coordinate with accounting, finance and operational teams to guarantee data accuracy.
• Manage and develop the controlling team, including performance reviews and coaching.
• Continuously improve controlling processes, tools and reporting systems.
• Chair and prepare management meetings focused on business review and performance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in controlling or FP&A.
• Experience in distribution, supply‑chain, retail or an international matrix organisation is a strong asset.
• People‑management experience or clear leadership ambition.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; French is a plus.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the region and across Europe.

Required skills

• Power BI or similar data‑driven reporting tools.
• ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel.
• Financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting.
