Compliance Consultant – Financial Services

About the role

Join BDO as a Compliance Consultant and help leading banks and insurers strengthen their regulatory compliance and operational resilience. You will work on a variety of projects covering financial crime, AML/KYC, sanctions, MiFID and payments regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan daily activities and respond to client compliance queries.
• Support senior colleagues in conducting compliance risk assessments and identifying gaps.
• Draft and improve policies, procedures, and compliance controls for clients.
• Facilitate workshops to document business processes, gather requirements and analyse compliance workflows.
• Perform operational compliance tasks such as customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and governance follow‑up.
• Coordinate project tasks across multiple stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
• Prepare documentation, presentations and to‑do lists for ongoing client engagements.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in business engineering, economics, law, criminology or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in compliance, audit, consulting or the financial sector.
• Strong interest in regulation and compliance operations; AML/KYC experience is a plus.
• Fluency in Dutch and French, with very good English proficiency.
• Analytical mindset, accuracy and ability to prioritize and structure work.
