Class Teacher – Nursery/Primary German Section

About the role

The European School Brussels I is seeking a qualified Class Teacher for its Nursery and/or Primary cycles within the German language section. The role involves delivering curriculum-aligned instruction and supporting the holistic development of a multicultural student body.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess lessons in German for nursery and primary pupils.
• Collaborate with Learning Support Teachers to provide moderate or intensive assistance as needed.
• Maintain inclusive classroom environments that respect linguistic and cultural diversity.
• Participate in staff meetings, parent‑teacher conferences, and school events.
• Contribute to the development of innovative teaching programmes.

Required profile

• Diploma authorising work as a Primary and/or Learning Support teacher in the German language section, validated by the Ministry of Education.
• Minimum two years of professional teaching experience.
• Excellent command of German (equivalent to an educated native speaker).
• Good knowledge of at least one other EU institutional language (English or French); additional European languages are an asset.
• Strong communication skills, flexibility, and willingness to work in a multilingual environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in German language instruction.
• Ability to use classroom technology and digital learning tools.
