Class and Learning Support Teacher – German Section (Brussels)

About the role

The European School Brussels I is seeking qualified Class Teachers and Learning Support Teachers for its German language section. The positions cover nursery and primary cycles on a part‑time basis (20–25.5 hours per week) with a fixed‑term contract running until 31 August 2028.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess curriculum in German for nursery or primary pupils.
• Provide general, moderate or intensive learning support, both inside and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers to adapt materials and monitor student progress.
• Participate in inclusive teaching programmes and contribute to a multicultural school environment.
• Maintain records, report on student wellbeing and adhere to European Schools policies.

Required profile

• Diploma authorising work as a primary and/or learning support teacher in the German language section, validated by the inspector.
• Minimum two years of professional teaching experience.
• Excellent command of German (equivalent to an educated native speaker).
• Good knowledge of English or French; additional European language is an asset.
• Strong communication skills, flexibility, and willingness to work in a multilingual setting.
• Professionalism, focus on student wellbeing, and ability to cooperate with colleagues and management.
• Familiarity with the European Schools system.
