About the role
Based in Brussels, the CIS Security Officer will support NATO’s Digital Endeavour by providing expert advice on information security, risk management and governance. The role is part of the Cyber Security Unit (CSU) that delivers 24/7 ICT services to the NATO Headquarters and its senior leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Advise senior stakeholders on security strategies, risk mitigation and compliance with NATO security standards.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of information security policies, standards and guidelines.
- Interpret and apply information assurance policies to manage operational risks.
- Gather and analyse threat intelligence, transforming data into actionable security information.
- Implement and oversee governance frameworks that reflect organisational values and ethical standards.
- Plan and execute complex risk‑management activities within the assigned functional area.
Required profile
- Strong understanding of information security principles and NATO security policies.
- Experience in risk assessment, governance and threat intelligence processes.
- Ability to provide clear guidance to senior management and technical teams.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
