Chief Steward

About the role

As the Chief Steward at Hotel Amigo, you will lead the stewarding team to ensure flawless daily operations in a historic hotel located near Brussels' Grand Place. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and service for both kitchen and dining areas.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and supervise all stewarding activities, allocating tasks and scheduling staff.
• Perform administrative duties for the department and ensure operational compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and food‑safety procedures throughout the hotel.
• Guarantee the continuous availability of clean equipment, utensils and tableware.
• Manage inventory of crockery, cutlery, cleaning products, dishwashing equipment and uniforms.
• Monitor detergent use, place orders, control departmental budget and record breakages.
• Participate in operational meetings and coordinate with other department managers.
• Contribute to recruitment and selection of new stewarding staff.
• Report directly to the Head Chef.
