Business Controller – Retail Banking (Finance)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Business Controller to join the Finance team of a leading financial services organisation. The role focuses on driving financial performance, providing high‑quality analysis and supporting strategic decisions across the retail banking division.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Monitor financial performance and analyse results against strategic objectives.
• Prepare management reports, dashboards and KPI analyses for senior management.
• Conduct cost, profitability and business‑case evaluations.
• Participate in month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Track budget variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Support business stakeholders with financial insights for decision‑making.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives, financial processes and reporting tools.
• Contribute to finance transformation and cross‑functional projects.
• Coach and support the Controlling team.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
• 5–10 years of experience in audit and/or business controlling.
• Strong knowledge of the retail banking or financial services sector.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proven experience leading projects and coordinating cross‑functional initiatives.
• Fluent in French and English; Dutch is a plus.
