Business Controller

About the role

The Business Controller reports to the Finance Director and is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial information to support operational decisions and help achieve revenue and profit targets. The role ensures strong financial control, monitors business performance and drives continuous improvement of financial processes within the fashion house.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting and internal planning process, aligning financial plans with strategic objectives.
• Administer, review and consolidate budgets, forecasts and financial plans; monitor deviations and propose corrective actions.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing, guaranteeing accurate and consistent financial reporting.
• Analyse monthly P&L variances against budget and prior year, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Control fashion margin, staff costs, operating expenses, working capital and CAPEX.
• Prepare and deliver periodic reports to local management and headquarters, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulations.
• Provide structured financial analysis and business insights to support strategic decision‑making.
• Partner with business managers and department heads to optimise performance and maximise P&L outcomes.
• Assess financial impact of new initiatives, investments and strategic decisions.
• Support HQ finance functions (GL, AP, AR, payroll) and assist with internal and external audits.
• Drive continuous improvement of reporting tools, analytics architecture and internal control processes.
