Bar Manager – Brussels

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Bar Manager to lead the launch of a new hospitality and music venue in Brussels. You will be responsible for building the bar operation from day one, ensuring high standards of service, product quality and financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily bar operations and work hands‑on during peak service periods.
• Develop and maintain procedures for opening, closing, mise en place and handovers.
• Manage inventories, supplier orders, deliveries, stock levels, wastage and product availability.
• Recruit, onboard, schedule and supervise permanent staff, flexi‑jobs and students.
• Create rotas aligned with expected activity, labour budgets and Belgian regulations.
• Train and coach the team, set clear standards and foster a positive, accountable culture.
• Ensure consistent drink quality, speed of service, cleanliness, food safety and responsible alcohol service.
• Monitor revenue, cost of goods, labour costs, margins, cash handling and operational reporting.

Required profile

• Solid bartending experience with previous responsibility for day‑to‑day bar management.
• Dynamic, reliable and organised with strong financial awareness.
• Proven ability to lead teams, communicate clearly and stay calm under pressure.
• Passion for product quality, guest experience and an inclusive team environment.
• Fluent English; basic understanding of French and/or Dutch.
