Backend Engineer – Technology Department

About the role

Gaming1 is looking for a Backend Engineer to design, build, and evolve the backend services that power its high‑traffic, regulated gaming platform. You will work in a small, autonomous product team, delivering reliable, user‑centric experiences while ensuring compliance and platform stability.

Key responsibilities

• Own backend solutions across their full lifecycle – from design and implementation to release, monitoring, and iterative improvement.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Frontend Engineers, and other stakeholders to align technical decisions with product impact.
• Apply strong backend craftsmanship, focusing on API design, data modeling, testing, performance, resilience, and operability.
• Continuously improve systems, tooling, and ways of working within the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer in product‑oriented environments, preferably at scale or in regulated contexts.
• Strong fundamentals in API design, data modeling, testing, performance, resilience, and operability.
• Hands‑on experience with .NET (C#) and event‑driven architectures such as RabbitMQ or NServiceBus.
• Solid experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL, and production‑grade systems.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS) and services like S3.
• Product‑mindset, collaborative attitude, and comfort working in small, cross‑functional teams.
