Automation Engineer – Pharmaceutical Industry

About the role

Join Nalys, a Belgian consulting firm specialized in life‑science and high‑regulation environments, as an Automation Engineer on an R&D team in Walloon Brabant. You will develop and maintain control‑system solutions for pharmaceutical and biotech clients, working hands‑on with cutting‑edge technology.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain complete control‑system solutions throughout the product lifecycle, including new developments, upgrades and site deployments.
• Write, execute and maintain unit and integration test cases to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Document control‑system implementations to meet quality and regulatory standards.
• Develop software solutions that address and challenge business needs.
• Deploy and upgrade control systems on‑site and in‑factory environments.
• Support internal and external customers during all project phases.
• Review team outputs, share expertise and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Automation or equivalent (Bachelor with strong experience considered).
• 3‑5 years of experience in automation development and support.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 10%.
• Team player, autonomous, curious and result‑focused.

• Siemens STEP7 programming.
• Siemens TIA Portal.
• Wonderware Intouch SCADA.
• Wonderware WinCC Unified SCADA.
